PAUL CALLICOAT

The wayward truth are an evolving and rotating cast of musician friends who on call, back up me, Paul Callicoat, a songwriter and guitarist in live performance. This can include Bob Shortridge on bass or guitar. Scott Stephens on Bass, Rudy Rohr on Mandolin, Mike Ellis on percussion, and possibly other musicians as well. I have been writing and playing music for just over 40 years in the Tri-state area of West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky and have found music in itself to be reason enough to live. My relationship with melody, harmony, rhythm and emotion has enriched my life more than I could have ever dreamed. It has brought me many close friends, and countless wonderful experiences. There is no doubt in my mind that playing music makes people better people. It is my belief that if all the leaders of the world were required to be real musicians, there would be no war, and much less poverty and crisis. If you're looking for a description here of the music: folk, country, hillbilly, blues, rock and gospel are all elements, songs of family, love, loss, story songs, observations. Most would file under Americana. I also when called upon, can often be seen singing and playing guitar or bass as a Beatnik Cowboy wth Kentucky's own Rob McNurlin. Sometimes with Jay Oakes, Sasha Collette, Doug Imbrogno, Tracy Ann Stanley, Joe Lambiotte, Jeff Ellis and others. Please come out and see us sometime. Thanks for listening and I hope you find something you enjoy. Paul
